Brody Longmuir

Brody Longmuir is a second year MPP student. Brody holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a double major in Political Science and History. Prior to entering the MPP Program, Brody worked in provincial and federal politics as well as for a lobbying firm. His interests include elections, education and environmental policy. Diana Lu

Diana Lu is a second year Master of Public Policy (MPP) student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. She graduated from the University of Calgary in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy, and Law and Society. Diana is interested in policy issues surrounding healthcare, immigration, transportation, and poverty. Duncan Cooper

Duncan Cooper is a second-year Master of Public Policy student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. Duncan previously completed an honours degree in political history at the University of British Columbia. Following his graduation at the Munk School, he hopes to work in the realms of climate change adaptation and mitigation, public transit, or supporting Indigenous governance. When not engaged in the minutiae of policy matters, Duncan enjoys reading classic and contemporary literature, going out on the town, and expounding on Montreal’s primacy among Canadian cities.

Hongyu Xiao

Hongyu is an MPP student for the Class of 2021. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelors’ degree in Law in 2014, and left (escaped) the practice of law in 2018. Wahaj Alam 

Wahaj is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Applied Sciences from Ryerson University for Public Health and Safety. He has an avid interest in policy issues concerning social welfare in Canada, including the accessibility of affordable dentistry and pharma-care. Wahaj has completed various independent research projects in the field of public health and has presented them to conventions such as the Partners in Prevention (PiP) conferences hosted by Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS). In addition to research, Wahaj likes to volunteer in the local community and has received the Nancy C. Sprott award in 2019 for his volunteering efforts. With Beyond the Headlines, Wahaj has collaborated to produce shows concerning health and human rights.
